Janet Dailey (Bergstrom)

Janet Diane Bergstrom, 67, of Albany, formerly of Warrenton and Astoria, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Albany.

She was born Dec. 11, 1944, in Astoria, to Clarence and Emma (Pearson) Dailey.

She attended Warrenton High School.

On Oct. 24, 1964, she married Thomas Stanley Bergstrom in Colorado. He preceded her in death in 1988. While her husband was in the U.S. Air Force, the couple lived in Colorado, Portland, Montana and Arizona. Once he returned from Vietnam, they moved to Astoria. In 1974, the couple moved to Albany.

Mrs. Bergstrom worked for the Greater Albany Public School system for more than 25 years.

She attended South Albany Community Church, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and was a regular member of a Bunco group.

Family members said her large family continued to be a central part of her life throughout her adulthood. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling. She was able to cross continents to see the many sights of the world, including Norway, Greece, South America, Alaska, Hawaii, the Mediterranean and many other sights. Often her traveling partners would include extended family and a friend.

She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Bergstrom; a son, Michael Bergstrom and his wife, Amy; her life partner, Glen Burnett; his daughter, Angie Bean and her husband, Greg; his son, Michael Burnett and his wife, Amanda; five grandchildren, Jake, Avery and Bjorn Bergstrom and Shawna and Tim Burnett; five siblings, Ilene Johnson, Beverly Hilferty, Cathy Keller, Marilyn Schnuerle and Ruby Yuill; and two longtime friends, Neva Jo Fenton and Mary Ann Fandrem.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Allen Dailey and Faye Ward.
