Carolyn Jarvis was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Kenneth and LaVern Kunkler. At age 5, the family moved to Warrenton, Oregon. Carolyn attended Warrenton School District and graduated in 1960.

Carolyn raised two children, Donna Jensen Mullins and Kelly Jensen. In 1974, Carolyn married Wayne Jarvis. She worked at Pop’s Restaurant in Warrenton, Bumble Bee Seafoods, Pig ‘N Pancake for 20-plus years (where she was known as “CJ”), and was the co-owner and bookkeeper for Jarvis Roofing.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent many hours watching her grandchildren wrestle and play football, basketball and baseball, most recently watching her great-grandchildren play those sports.

She will be remembered by her family as Granny, someone they could count on, someone who would always be there for them. She was proud of each and every one of them. Her grandchildren were very aware that they were the light of her life, and enjoyed the time spent with her.

Carolyn enjoyed a Christmas celebration on Dec. 22, surrounded by her family at the home of her grandson, Dusty, in Riddle, Oregon. We will remember that day with her smiling, fist bumping and hugging her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn and Wayne loved traveling together. Watching their grandchildren play sports took them all over, from the West Coast to the east. They especially enjoyed their trips to many of the national parks.

Carolyn also loved to watch wildlife, especially hummingbirds, which she fed year-round. This was also a special memory for her grandchildren to watch the hummingbirds with Granny, while she spoiled them with cookies and ice cream.

She is loved and missed by her husband, Wayne; children, Donna and Duane Mullins, Kelly Jensen and Melissa Gurr, Thressa Pounds and Tim Jarvis; her grandchildren, Dusty and Joelle McGrorty, Tyler and Tabbitha McGrorty, Jake and Cody Mullins, Cole Jensen, Bailey Jensen and Josh Wheatley and Lindsey and Ashley Gurr; her great-grandchildren, Tyson, Talon, Taya, Traxon and Cason McGrorty; and her siblings, Harold and Karen Kunkler and Doll and Randy Horner.
